Matthew Flax, CGC, CPA, LEED AP
President/Co-Founder
Matthew Flax is the President and Co-Founder of Flax & Associates, LLC.
Mr. Flax is a Florida Licensed General Contractor, a Certified Public Accountant, and LEED Accredited Professional. He also holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Nova Southeastern University and is a graduate of the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Science from the School of Natural Resources and Sciences.
Prior to founding Flax & Associates, Mr. Flax, was an Assistant Vice President and the Florida Region Area Manager for J.S. Held, Project Management Market Leader in Miami for CBRE and Director in FTI Consulting’s Construction Solutions group.
Mr. Flax is a well experienced construction professional with years of experience nationally and internationally in construction management, claims, estimating, project controls, scheduling, forensic accounting, and project management.
Mr. Flax’s experience in the construction industry has involved commercial projects and claims ranging in value from $15,000 to over $3 billion and includes some high-profile assignments. Matt’s construction experience consists of but is not limited to: project estimating, contractor negotiation, litigation support, construction defect analyses, delay claims, change order review and analyses, preparation of scopes of work, and expert testimony.
Mr. Flax has also been involved in international arbitrations involving economic cost damages analysis, fraud investigations, and various other consulting engagements required to perform complex financial analysis and forensic accounting.
Mr. Flax enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children, is an avid golfer and loves his home teams, the New York Jets and the New York Mets.
